We have been working like crazy! This week we are proud to launch our new website – http://www.openforservice.org
Why a new website? Good question! The new website better highlights all of the progress we have made since March and better serves our mission. The first website was 4 pages, and now its 27! We have done so much in the last 9 months and we are able to highlight it.
In the coming weeks, we will be launching two new initiatives that our community has asked for:
1) Open For Weddings – The wedding industry continues to be a point of debate about religious freedom. We want to make sure you know which vendors are more than happy to help you with the big day. We’ll update you as soon as we are ready
2) Open For Employment – Open For Employment will be a new central resource for businesses that have or are looking to hire a diverse workforce. We will be announcing a new partnership with an HR Consulting company to provide a standardized anti-discrimination policy as well as a webinar series focused on questions about anti-discrimination and how to implement policies and procedures to support everyone.
In addition, we will be posting volunteer opportunities, new partnerships, some info about our board members, and O4S in the media.
3) Donations & Sponsorships – Finally, we have added a donate button on our website. Our database has become so large that we need to invest in new technologies and infrastructure to make it easy to search businesses and get incentives. A large portion of funds raised will be allocated towards this. If you didn’t know, Open For Service’s team is completely volunteer-based. Our “office hours” are from 6pm-midnight M-F. We want to serve our community better, so we hope to hire an Executive Director soon. We will be launching a campaign to do so in the next few weeks.
So check it out! Give us feedback, what would you like to see us do in the future!!
